Shops and Markets in Dubrovnik
Shopping in Dubrovnik spans Stradun boutiques, coral and filigree jewellers, craft galleries, the Gunduliceva and Gruz markets and souvenir stalls.
Retail inside the walls works the visitor trade: souvenir shops the length of Stradun and its side lanes selling lavender, Pag salt, candied orange peel and rakija, alongside a serious tier of jewellers working Adriatic red coral and traditional Konavle filigree earrings. Small galleries and craft rooms hold their own between them. Prices track the location; identical items usually cost less in Gruz or Lapad.
The markets keep the food trade honest. Gunduliceva poljana hosts the Old Town's morning market with produce, dried figs and homemade oils sold until early afternoon, while the bigger everyday market runs beside the port in Gruz, where the fish hall opens at dawn. For standard retail, supermarkets sit outside the walls along the Lapad corridor and towards the airport road. Most Old Town shops run long seven-day hours in season and cut back sharply from November.
